Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today held a high-level meeting with his Chief Economic Advisor Pravinsinh Pardeshi to review the impact of the US tariffs on Maharashtra. The meeting was attended by senior officials from various departments, including Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department; Additional Chief Secretary, Planning Department; and Commissioner of State Tax, Goods and Services Tax.
The meeting discussed key issues such as GDP, employment, trade, and the potential impact of the US tariff policy on the state’s export-oriented industries and competitiveness in the global market. The Chief Minister emphasized the need to study the possible effects of the US tariffs on the state’s economy and devise necessary measures to safeguard the interests of industries.
It was decided that the state government would work in coordination with the Central Government to protect the interests of industries and the economy. Chief Minister Fadnavis assured that the state government is committed to protecting the interests of industries and strengthening the economy.
The Chief Minister’s office stated that the state government would take proactive measures to mitigate the impact of the US tariffs and ensure the continued growth of the state’s economy. The meeting was attended by experts, including Mitra’s co-CEO Aman Mittal, economist Sanjeev Saxena, and Mumbai School of Economics professor Satyanarayan Kothe.
The state government will work closely with the Central Government to address the challenges posed by the US tariffs and ensure the protection of the state’s economic interests. The meeting marked an important step towards assessing the impact of the US tariffs and devising strategies to mitigate their effects on Maharashtra’s economy.
