Awards and Recognition

New Mumbai: The annual award ceremony of All Journalist Friend Circle (AJFC), a journalists’ organization, was held at Krantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke auditorium in Panvel, Navi Mumbai. The organization has been conferring awards on various dignitaries in the field of journalism since its inception in 2005 as a source of inspiration. Many veteran journalists from Maharashtra state are included in this.

Event Details

On the occasion of the foundation day of Daily Lokankeet, AJFC Maharashtra state general secretary Sanjay Pawar organized this award ceremony. AJFC is not just an organization of journalists, but also includes dignitaries from various fields of society as its members. Therefore, in the past few years, these awards have been made general, and dignitaries from social and government sectors are included in it. A total of 11 dignitaries were awarded yesterday, including 10 notable journalists and diligent government officer Sunil Aatpadkar. Internationally acclaimed journalist Jatin Desai and Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh’s working president Shailendra Shirke were present as chief guests at the ceremony.

Role and Responsibilities

Sunil Aatpadkar is working as an Assistant Development Officer in the Social Development Wing of MMRDA, which is responsible for the sustainable development of Mumbai. The Social Development Wing acts as a coordinator for the resettlement colonies of people displaced due to MMRDA projects.

Challenges and Opportunities

It is extremely necessary to provide facilities and solve problems of residents in resettlement colonies. Therefore, naturally, the residents of the housing society, including the president, secretary, and individuals, have a close relationship with Aatpadkar.

Impact and Outcomes

The rush of files in Aatpadkar’s office is a testament to his responsibility. He is often seen working late in the evening in his office. The example of some work done by him beyond resettlement is evident from the presence of activists and residents from resettlement colonies at the award ceremony yesterday. The successful journey of “Sankalp Bachat Gat” in providing all resettlement facilities by MMRDA is visible in the housing society today.
