The case dates back to 25 September, when a complaint of motorcycle theft was lodged at the Shindkheda Police Station. Based on this FIR, the Local Crime Branch team began its investigation. Officer Shri Shriram Pawar of the LCB received a tip-off from an informer, following which the police team swiftly moved into action and laid a trap to nab the culprits.

During the operation, the police succeeded in arresting Mukesh Shankar Pawar from Dondaicha, while his associate fled from the spot and is currently absconding. Another minor involved in the crime was caught and immediately sent to a juvenile home as per legal procedure. The gang had allegedly been stealing motorcycles from other districts and then selling them in different villages across Dhule district.
