Mumbai: In a crackdown operation, the Anti-Narcotics Cell, Zone 6, and the RCF police station, along with the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), have arrested a gang involved in selling mephedrone, a synthetic stimulant. A total of 45 grams of mephedrone worth ₹4,50,000 was seized from the suspect, leading to the registration of a case (Case No. 159/2025) under sections 8(c) and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Further investigation led to the arrest of five more individuals involved in the mephedrone trade, with three of the accused hailing from Mumbai and two from Navi Mumbai.
