Nanded : A sensetive controversy has erupted in Nanded after an audio clip of a heated conversation between former Zilla Parishad member Bhartibai Pawar and electricity distribution contractor Baban Kharane went viral on social media. The clip, in which Pawar is allegedly heard using abusive language not only against the contractor but also targeting the Maratha community, has triggered outrage.
According to reports, the dispute began when Pawar confronted Kharane over disruption in electricity supply to agricultural fields. During the argument, Pawar allegedly hurled caste-based slurs and derogatory remarks about the Maratha community, which immediately stirred anger among community members once the clip surfaced online.
Following the uproar, activists from the Maratha community rushed to the Airport Police Station demanding strict action against Pawar. Acting on a formal complaint lodged by contractor Kharane, police registered a case against Bhartibai Pawar for abusive and objectionable remarks. Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway.
Community leaders have condemned the remarks, calling them an insult to Maratha pride and warning that such incidents could inflame social tensions if not addressed firmly. Police have assured that the case will be probed thoroughly and legal action will follow.
