New Delhi : Addressing the global AI gathering, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s growing role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence. He said the country’s digital public infrastructure, talent pool and innovation ecosystem position it to become a major AI development hub. Modi stressed that India is not only building AI for domestic use but also aiming to create scalable solutions for the world, especially developing nations.
Technology Must Empower People, Not Replace Them
In his address, the Prime Minister emphasised that artificial intelligence should strengthen human capability rather than replace jobs. He noted that the future of work will involve cooperation between humans and machines, where AI enhances productivity while human judgement and creativity remain central. According to him, responsible adoption of AI can accelerate economic growth while maintaining social balance.
Need for Ethical and Inclusive AI Framework
Modi urged policymakers, technology companies and researchers to prioritise ethical AI development. He warned that unchecked use of technology could raise concerns related to privacy, security and misuse of data. The Prime Minister stressed that AI systems must be transparent, inclusive and built with safeguards so that innovation benefits society at large rather than a select few.
Global Cooperation Key to AI Growth
Speaking at the summit in New Delhi, Modi called for stronger global partnerships in artificial intelligence research, governance and investment. He said international collaboration would ensure that AI remains accessible and beneficial for all countries, particularly emerging economies. He emphasised that the future of technology should be shaped through cooperation rather than competition alone.
AI to Play Strategic Role in India’s Growth Story
The Prime Minister underlined that artificial intelligence will play a major role in India’s development journey, from healthcare and agriculture to education and governance. He added that continued investment in innovation, data infrastructure and skill development will help India harness the full potential of AI while ensuring responsible deployment.
