Mumbai – The All Journalists and Friends Circle (AJFC), a leading journalists’ organization in the country, has announced its annual awards for the year. Ten notable individuals from various fields have been selected for the awards. Sunil Aatpadkar, Assistant Social Development Officer at the Social Development Department of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), has been chosen for the State-Level Government Officer award.
About AJFC and the Awards
The AJFC was founded in 2005 by a group of like-minded journalists and has been organizing annual conferences, workshops, and award ceremonies since its inception. The awards were initially given to journalists, but now they are inclusive of all sections of society. The award selection committee invites nominations for the awards two months in advance, and hundreds of nominations are received for various categories.
Sunil Aatpadkar’s Achievements
Sunil Aatpadkar’s office is always filled with project-affected residents, and he is available to meet them until 7 pm. He has been instrumental in rehabilitating thousands of people affected by various projects in Mumbai. The “Sankalp” savings group, which has over 1,000 women members, is a testament to his efforts in empowering women and helping them become entrepreneurs.
The Award Ceremony
The award ceremony will be held on June 7 at the Adya Krantiveer Balwant Vasudev Fadke Auditorium in Panvel. The ceremony will be attended by several dignitaries, including Padma Shri Girish Prabhune, MPs Ramsheth Thakur and Shrirang Barne, MLAs Mahendra Dalvi, Prashant Thakur, and Vikrant Patil, among others.
