Mumbai: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Mayor of Mumbai, Babu Bhai Bhavanji, has intensified outreach efforts among Bihari migrants in Mumbai ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. Addressing several gatherings across the city, Bhavanji appealed to the community to extend full support to NDA candidates and strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Bhavanji highlighted that Bihar has witnessed historic progress under the NDA’s double-engine government. He cited recently inaugurated projects by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bihar, including the multi-crore Nalanda International University expansion, the Patna Metro rail project phase-II, and the state-wide rural connectivity initiative, calling them “game-changers” for Bihar’s economy and youth employment.
He urged Bihari migrants to travel to their native constituencies during the polls and mobilize relatives, friends, and neighbors to support NDA candidates. Those unable to travel were encouraged to connect with family members over phone or social media to ensure maximum voter turnout for the NDA.
Meanwhile, the opposition led by Rahul Gandhi has been carrying out the “Vote Adhikar Yatra” across Bihar, attacking the Modi government on unemployment and inflation issues. However, Bhavanji countered these allegations, stating that “Rahul Gandhi is misleading people, while PM Modi is delivering development at their doorstep.”
On seat-sharing within the NDA, sources indicate that BJP and JDU may contest on 100–105 seats each, while Chirag Paswan’s LJP (Ramvilas) is demanding around 40 seats but may settle for 20. Smaller allies like Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM and Upendra Kushwaha’s RLM are likely to get 6–7 seats each.
The election campaign will also feature a pictorial song video showcasing NDA’s achievements in Bihar, particularly in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, aimed at boosting voter confidence.
Bhavanji concluded by saying, “It’s time to choose development over false promises. Bihar needs NDA’s double-engine government to continue the journey of growth.”
