Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister it Devendra Fadnavis has issued a stern warning to his cabinet colleagues, cautioning them against getting embroiled in controversies that tarnish the government’s image. During a 30-minute special discussion with ministers after a cabinet meeting, Fadnavis emphasized that controversial statements and actions will not be tolerated.

The warning comes amid several ministers facing scrutiny for their actions, including Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate, Social Justice Minister Sanjay Shirsat, School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse, and Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam. These ministers have been embroiled in controversies, prompting the opposition to demand their resignation.

Fadnavis advised ministers to avoid media interactions and focus on development works, instructing them to clarify immediately if their names are mentioned in any controversy but not to create new controversies. He also emphasized the importance of refuting controversies promptly to prevent damage to the government’s image.

The Chief Minister’s rebuke is seen as an effort to maintain the government’s reputation and ensure that ministers prioritize their work over personal controversies. Fadnavis’s warning signals a zero-tolerance policy towards behavior that could harm the government’s image.
