Daring Robbery on Shirud–Khorad Road

Dhule Taluka Police have achieved a major breakthrough by solving a daring late-night robbery case on the Shirud–Khorad road and arresting six members of a criminal gang from Babre village. The incident took place when Khushal Patil, a computer manager responsible for handling funds collected from women’s self-help groups, was returning home with the day’s collection. On the way, a group of armed miscreants stopped him, assaulted him, and looted cash worth ₹1.17 lakh before fleeing from the spot. The victim, shocked and injured, immediately reported the matter to the police.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, Police Inspector Dhananjay Patil and his team launched an intensive investigation. Based on the description provided by the complainant and vital clues from local villagers, police traced the suspects to Babre village. A well-coordinated operation led to the detention of six accused identified as Pankaj Sonawane, Deepak Bhil, Manilal Bhil, Vinod Bhil, Sachin Bhil, and Yogesh Bhil. During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and revealed details of their planning and execution.
Police have successfully recovered ₹80,700 in cash along with a motorcycle worth ₹50,000 that was used in the robbery, bringing the total seized property to ₹1.30 lakh. Authorities confirmed that the swift detection was the result of prompt action, coordinated efforts, and reliable intelligence. Inspector Patil assured that strict measures are being implemented to prevent such incidents and that the crackdown will serve as a warning to criminal elements in the region.
