Dhule : September 19, 2025 – In a major crackdown, Pimpralner Police seized illegal flavored tobacco and supari worth over ₹67 lakh during an early morning operation. The action was taken around 3 a.m. on the basis of secret information received by the police team.
The raid was carried out under the leadership of Assistant Police Inspector Kiran Berge, who intercepted a goods truck (MH-18 BG 3473). On inspection, the police found boxes of perfume used to conceal the contraband. Hidden beneath them was a large stock of illegal scented tobacco and supari valued at ₹43,67,200.
Additionally, police confiscated the truck worth ₹15 lakh and perfume boxes valued at ₹8,54,000, taking the total seizure to ₹67,21,200.
A case has been registered against the unidentified driver. The investigation is being led by PSI Vijay Chaure, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shrikant Dhiware, Additional SP Ajay Devre, and SDPO Sanjay Bamble.
Police sources said this action is part of an ongoing campaign against the illegal trade of tobacco and narcotics in the district.
