Exposed: Aslam Munshi’s Illicit Land Empire in Panvel
By: Arvind Jadhav
New Mumbai: A shocking revelation has emerged in Panvel, where notorious land mafia operative Aslam Munshi’s reign of terror has been exposed. His associate, Imran Ansari, has turned approver and revealed the intricate details of Munshi’s network to the police. The allegations against Munshi include land grabbing, threats, and intimidation, which have left victims living in fear.
Munshi allegedly grabbed shops worth crores in Panvel, using police connivance, and registered them in his henchmen’s names. Journalist Gopal Shah, who exposed Munshi’s activities, faced threats and defamation attempts. Furthermore, Munshi allegedly occupied a petrol pump allocated to the widow of a police personnel martyred in the 26/11 attacks.
The police inaction in this case raises serious questions about their impartiality and potential protection being offered to Munshi. Despite FIRs being filed two years ago, Munshi remains free, and no chargesheet has been filed. The Deshpande couple, whose shops were grabbed, now live in hiding, fearing for their lives.
The police are investigating the matter, and Imran Ansari’s testimony is expected to shed more light on Munshi’s operations. The case will test the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies in tackling powerful land mafia operatives. Will justice be served, or will Munshi’s influence prevail? Only time will tell.
