Ratnagiri: The Konkan region has come alive with devotion and celebration as the arrival processions of Lord Ganpati, fondly known as Ganpati Bappa, have begun. A day before Ganesh Chaturthi, villages and towns across the region witness the vibrant tradition of bringing Ganpati Bappa home with great pomp and fervor.
The age-old custom of carrying the idol on the head continues to be followed religiously, symbolizing respect and devotion. Beating drums, traditional dhol-tasha, and the cheerful chants of Ganpati Bappa Morya fill the air, creating an electrifying atmosphere.
From children to elders, entire families participate in these processions with unmatched enthusiasm. Streets are adorned with lights and decorations as people dance, sing, and celebrate the arrival of their beloved deity.
These processions not only mark the beginning of the ten-day Ganesh festival but also highlight the cultural unity and devotion that define the Konkan region. The excitement and spiritual fervor in the air truly set the stage for a grand celebration ahead.
