Kabul Hospital Airstrike: 400 Killed in Deadly Attack Amid Afghanistan–Pakistan Tensions

By | Arvind Jadhav

In a shocking escalation of regional conflict, a deadly airstrike struck a hospital in Kabul, leaving more than 400 people dead. The attack is being described as one of the most devastating incidents in recent years in Afghanistan. The scale of destruction and civilian casualties has raised serious global concern. Tensions in the region have sharply increased following this incident.

The strike reportedly targeted a drug rehabilitation hospital during late-night hours, when a large number of patients were present inside the facility. According to initial reports, over 2,000 individuals were inside at the time of the attack. More than 250 people have been injured, many of them critically. Rescue teams are still working through the debris, and the death toll is feared to rise further.

Afghanistan’s Taliban-led administration has directly blamed Pakistan for carrying out the airstrike. Officials have strongly condemned the incident, calling it a violation of international law and a crime against humanity. They maintain that the hospital was a civilian facility with no links to militant activity. The attack has further strained already tense relations between the two countries.

Pakistan, however, has denied these allegations and stated that its military operations were aimed only at militant hideouts and terrorist infrastructure. Officials claimed that any civilian casualties were unintended and accused Afghan authorities of spreading misleading information. The conflicting narratives from both sides have made the situation more complex and sensitive.

The airstrike comes amid escalating tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, with frequent cross-border clashes reported in recent weeks. Both countries have accused each other of harboring militant groups and supporting insurgent activities. Diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation have not been successful so far. The conflict now appears to be moving beyond border skirmishes into more serious military actions.

The international community has expressed deep concern over the attack, warning that continued escalation could lead to a wider regional conflict. Humanitarian organizations have highlighted the worsening crisis in Afghanistan, where people are already struggling with economic and food shortages. Experts believe that instability in the region could be exploited by extremist groups. The situation remains tense and is being closely monitored worldwide.
