Mumbai: Maharashtra government has announced that it will make all its services available on WhatsApp, ensuring that citizens can access government schemes and initiatives with ease. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has prioritized the implementation of this initiative, directing officials to expedite the process.
The decision was made during a review meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence, where it was emphasized that the government would not only provide services on WhatsApp but also ensure their quality. A third-party agency will be engaged to monitor the services and maintain their standards.
Currently, the government offers 1001 services through the “Aaple Sarkar” portal, with 997 services already live and 236 new services added in the last 15 days. The government aims to replicate this success on WhatsApp, leveraging its widespread popularity to reach citizens more effectively.
To achieve this, the government will implement a “ring” system in each taluka, covering 10-12 villages, and provide services accordingly. The government will also integrate similar services, reduce documentation requirements, and standardize dashboards across district councils, municipal corporations, and universities. Additionally, the Disha digital service hub will be utilized to facilitate seamless service delivery.
By making government services available on WhatsApp, the Maharashtra government aims to provide citizens with a convenient and user-friendly experience, bridging the gap between governance and citizens.
