Mumbai Police Seize Massive Cache of Mephedrone Worth ₹13.37 Crore
Mumbai: In a crackdown operation, the Anti-Narcotics Cell, Zone 6, and the RCF police station, along with the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), have arrested a gang involved in selling mephedrone, a synthetic stimulant. The operation began on March 19, 2025, when the RCF police station team, conducting preventive patrols, apprehended a suspect selling mephedrone in the RAF police station jurisdiction.
A total of 45 grams of mephedrone worth ₹4,50,000 was seized from the suspect, leading to the registration of a case (Case No. 159/2025) under sections 8(c) and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Further investigation led to the arrest of five more individuals involved in the mephedrone trade, with three of the accused hailing from Mumbai and two from Navi Mumbai. The authorities confiscated a substantial cache of mephedrone worth ₹13.37 crore from the accused.

The successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Deven Bharti and Joint Commissioner of Police Satyanarayan Choudhary, with DCP Navnath Dhavle overseeing the team, which included officers Shamsher Tadvi, Maitranand Khandare, Ganesh Karve, Vani, Patil, Raut, Khaire, Yele, Sanap, and Malve.
