🟡 Major Anti-Drug Drive in Mumbai
Mumbai: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Brihanmumbai Police Crime Branch has arrested 11 drug smugglers and seized narcotics worth ₹2.04 crore in a series of nine operations carried out between September 23 and September 27, 2025.
🟡 Operations Across Multiple Locations
Raids were conducted in Dharavi, Bandra West, Byculla, Govandi, Goregaon East, Borivali West, Malvani-Malad West, and Mahim. Police seized a wide variety of narcotics including Mephedrone (MD), heroin, ganja, and psychotropic tablets.
🟡 Total Seizures
The crackdown led to the recovery of 198 grams of MD, 6 kg 233 grams of ganja, 346 grams of heroin, and 3,460 tablets of Nitrozepam, Alprazolam and Tramadol.
🟡 Raids and Recoveries
In Dharavi, 140 grams of MD worth ₹42 lakh was seized from two peddlers.
In Bandra West, 849 grams of ganja worth ₹21,225 and 15 grams of heroin valued at ₹6 lakh were recovered.
In Byculla and Mahim, police seized 1.18 kg of ganja and 310 grams of heroin worth ₹1.24 crore.
In Govandi, 3,460 tablets of Nitrozepam, Alprazolam and Tramadol were confiscated in two stages.
In Goregaon, Borivali and Malvani-Malad, police seized 58 grams of MD, 21 grams of heroin worth ₹8.40 lakh, and 4.2 kg of ganja.
🟡 Senior Officers Leading the Crackdown
The massive anti-narcotics campaign was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Deven Bharti, Joint CP (Crime) Lakhmi Gautam, Additional CP Shailesh Balkawade, DCP Navnath Dhawale, ACP Sudhir Hirdekar, and unit in-charges Vishal Chandanshive, Santosh Salunkhe, Anil Dhole, Shashikant Jagdale, and Rajendra Dahiphale.
🟡 Towards a Drug-Free Mumbai
Officials said these coordinated operations are part of a city-wide crackdown to dismantle drug networks and safeguard youth from substance abuse. The Brihanmumbai Police reiterated its mission to build a drug-free society and urged citizens to report any suspicious activities related to narcotics.
