Parliament Budget Session LIVE: West Asia Crisis Sparks Heated Debate in Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha

By | KalyaniMandle | PR Desk

New Delhi: The ongoing Parliament Budget Session witnessed intense discussions and political exchanges on Tuesday as the West Asia crisis, opposition protests, and key national issues dominated proceedings in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

The geopolitical tensions in West Asia became one of the major talking points in Parliament, with the government informing members that the situation is being closely monitored due to its potential impact on India’s energy security and the safety of Indian citizens working in the region.

Government Statement on West Asia Situation

During the Budget Session debate, the government said the developments in West Asia are a matter of concern because of the large number of Indians living and working in Gulf countries.

Officials stated that India remains in constant diplomatic contact with countries in the region and is taking necessary measures to ensure the safety of Indian nationals if the security situation worsens.

The government also emphasized that India’s strategic interests, trade routes, and oil supply chains are being carefully monitored amid the escalating tensions.

Opposition Demands Detailed Discussion

Opposition parties demanded a comprehensive discussion in Parliament on the West Asia conflict and its possible impact on India’s economy, oil prices, and employment opportunities for Indians in Gulf countries.

Several opposition members also raised notices seeking suspension of routine business to allow an urgent debate on the issue in both Houses of Parliament.

Protests Disrupt Lok Sabha Proceedings

The Lok Sabha proceedings witnessed noisy scenes as opposition MPs raised slogans demanding a full discussion on the West Asia issue.

Due to the protests and repeated interruptions, the House was adjourned briefly before resuming later in the day.

The political confrontation highlighted growing tensions between the ruling alliance and opposition during the ongoing Budget Session.

Rajya Sabha Discusses Global Impact

In the Rajya Sabha, members raised concerns over the possible economic impact of the West Asia crisis, especially regarding global crude oil prices and international trade routes.

Government ministers assured the House that India has sufficient energy reserves and strong diplomatic engagement with multiple countries to manage potential disruptions.

Budget Session to Continue With Key Bills

The Parliament Budget Session is expected to continue with several important legislative discussions in the coming days.

Key issues likely to dominate the session include economic policy reforms, foreign policy developments, national security matters, and welfare schemes.

With global geopolitical developments unfolding rapidly, debates in Parliament are expected to remain intense in the coming weeks.
