Nanded, Maharashtra: In a significant show of unity, the tribal community in Hadgaon tehsil organized a massive march to protect Scheduled Tribe (ST) reservations. Thousands of tribal members gathered, demanding that reservation benefits meant for the ST category should not be extended to other castes.
⭕ Background of the Protest: The march comes amid recent demands by the Banjara and Dhangar communities seeking inclusion in the Scheduled Tribe category. While these communities have held rallies to press their demands, tribal groups in Hadgaon have stepped forward to safeguard their constitutional rights.
⭕ March Highlights: Participants in the Reservation Protection March emphasized that any inclusion of non-tribal communities into the ST category would undermine the rights of existing tribal members. Leaders warned that if the state government moves ahead with such inclusion, the tribal community may escalate protests, including a potential large-scale agitation in Mumbai.

⭕ Community Voices: Local tribal leaders expressed strong concern, saying the march reflects their determination to protect ST reservations. They urged authorities to carefully consider the community’s demands before making any policy changes.
⭕ Looking Ahead: The government’s response to this growing tension will be closely watched, as the tribal community continues to mobilize and assert its rights across Nanded district.
