Fatal Collision on Samruddhi Expressway

Nashik A devastating road accident was reported on the Samruddhi Expressway near Nashik after a chemical tanker crashed into a truck, triggering a massive fire. The impact led to an explosion-like blaze, engulfing both vehicles within minutes and causing panic among motorists on the busy highway.

Two Burnt to Death in Inferno

According to preliminary information, two people were trapped inside the vehicles and were burnt to death in the fire. The intensity of the flames made rescue efforts extremely difficult, resulting in fatalities before emergency responders could reach the scene.

Truck Driver Escapes Safely

The truck driver, however, managed to escape the accident site in time and survived without serious injuries. Authorities said his quick response helped him avoid the deadly blaze that followed the collision.

Firefighting and Traffic Disruption

Fire brigade teams and highway police rushed to the spot and worked for several hours to bring the fire under control. Due to the incident, traffic movement on the Samruddhi Expressway was disrupted, with vehicles diverted until the debris was cleared and the road deemed safe.

Cause of Accident Under Investigation

Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash, including whether overspeeding or negligence played a role. Further details regarding the chemical being transported in the tanker are awaited.
