Who Will Be the Next BJP Maharashtra President?
By: Arvind Jadhav
Mumbai : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated its national organizational election process, appointing election officers for various states, including Maharashtra. Central Minister Kiren Rijiju has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the election process in Maharashtra. The current president, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, vacated the position after becoming the Revenue Minister, and the party is now looking for a new leader to take the reins.
Ravindra Chavan is being considered as the frontrunner for the position of Maharashtra BJP President. He is a sitting MLA from Dombivli in Thane district and has been actively involved in the party’s organizational activities. Chavan was appointed as the acting president of the Maharashtra BJP in January 2025, which is seen as a preparation for the president’s role. He has strengthened the party organization through the ‘Sangathan Parv’ campaign and has been active in local elections and membership drives.
The appointment of a new president is crucial for the BJP in Maharashtra, especially after the historic win in the assembly elections under Chandrashekhar Bawankule’s leadership. The new president will play a key role in shaping the party’s strategy and direction in the state. District and divisional-level organizational elections have been completed, and the party is expected to announce new appointments by the end of the month [1].
