Central govt’s promising budget for Maharashtra’s tourism development – Minister Shambhuraj Desai

By Abhay Havaldar

Satara : Mharashtra Tourism Minister Shambhuraj Desai has committed to commence efforts to secure the largest possible funds from the Union Budget to improve the state’s tourism sector. This step is part of the Union Government’s budget tabled in the Lok Sabha, which prioritizes the interests of the common people and allocates substantial funds to tourism development. Desai emphasized that the state government, led by CM Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar, would strive hard to secure the most funds from the central government for the development of the tourism sector.

The move is intended to increase tourism in the state, create jobs, and promote local economic development. Tourism Minister Shambhuraj Desai welcomed the Union Budget’s emphasis on increasing tourism, particularly the creation of 50 intriguing new tourist destinations across the country. The move is likely to significantly increase the tourism sector while opening up new opportunities for the local economy and people.

Minister Shambhuraj Desai stated that the objective of the initiative is to provide tourists with services in the homes of villagers via the Bed and Breakfast and Home Stay scheme. The central government has driven such initiatives in the budget over hill stations, picturesque tourist destinations, and tourism supplements. The tourist department will have a special meeting next week to discuss the issues included in the Union Budget that would help strengthen the state’s tourism sector. The meeting will go over the plans to execute the initiatives in collaboration with the state and central governments.

Maharashtra’s pioneering bed-breakfast and homestay model has earned national recognition, with the Central government considering its adoption across other states. This achievement is a testament to Maharashtra’s innovative approach to tourism, showcasing its potential as a leader in the sector. The state’s tourism industry can take pride in being a trendsetter, inspiring other regions to follow suit. As the state continues to promote its unique cultural and natural heritage, this recognition will undoubtedly propel Maharashtra’s tourism sector to new heights.
