RCF Anti Terrorist Squad Arrest Man With Two Revolvers and Bullets

Mumbai: The RCF Anti-Terrorism Squad received information from a confidential informant that an individual was preparing to commit a crime with two revolvers, eight rounds of bullets, and two magazines in Mahul village under the RCF police station. Since the individual was armed, the RCF Anti-Terrorism Squad jointly planned an operation with Zone 6 and the local RCF police station. According to the information received from the confidential informant, the police team carefully confiscated the revolvers, bullets, and magazines from the individual and immediately disarmed him.
Accused’s Background and Investigation
Agandsingh Shriram Gopal Jatav, 29, is originally from Etawah in Uttar Pradesh. He is currently being investigated for possessing weapons in Mumbai. Recently, Mumbai Police Zone 6 has intensified its anti-drug campaign and efforts to maintain law and order. As part of this initiative, the police team successfully apprehended the accused.
Suspected Connections and Ongoing Investigation
The police were informed that the individual was preparing to commit a serious crime, prompting an investigation. Given the accused’s origins in Uttar Pradesh, authorities suspect a connection to a gang supplying weapons from Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai. The investigation will reveal whether the accused intended to commit the crime or sell the weapons.
Operation Details
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Eastern Division) Mahesh Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Mumbai Police Zone 6 Navnath Dhawale, and ACP (Trombay Division) Rajesh Babshetty. The team included RCF Police Inspector Rajesh Kumar Gathe, API Khandare, PSI Ganesh Karche of the Anti-Terrorism Squad, and Vani, Khaire, Yele, Kedar, Malve, Raut and Sanap.
