Special Cleanliness Initiative

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is conducting a special cleanliness drive across Mumbai until June 15. The initiative focuses on collecting waste, debris, and construction rubble from public spaces, water bodies, and drains to ensure smoother drainage and prevent debris accumulation. The BMC will give special attention to areas around water bodies and drains to ensure that they are not choked during the monsoon season.

Cleanliness Drive Detail

Sweeping will be conducted every day before 10 am, with a second round of sweeping scheduled as needed. The BMC will identify high-waste locations in all municipal ward areas and carry out intensive cleaning at these spots. Waste materials such as construction rubble, discarded goods, and other rubbish will be cleared from pedestrian paths, roads, and other public spaces.

Public Cooperation Urged

The BMC has urged residents to maintain cleanliness in their areas and refrain from disposing of waste or construction debris in public spaces. The civic body has also called for public cooperation in supporting its cleanliness efforts. By working together, the BMC aims to prevent waterlogging and flooding during the monsoon season and keep Mumbai clean and beautiful.
