Ludhiana/ Punjab : Van Mahotsav 2025 is a significant event that aims to promote afforestation and raise awareness about the importance of trees in our ecosystem. Scheduled from July 1 to July 7, the campaign will involve planting 3,000-5,000 native saplings in the Mattewara Jungles, rejuvenating the eco-sensitive floodplains of River Satluj, conserving biodiversity, and promoting eco-tourism. This initiative marks the 3rd Anniversary of Saving Mattewara Jungles and seeks to protect Punjab’s ecological heritage.

The campaign’s objectives include enhancing biodiversity, increasing green cover, reducing man-animal conflict, generating rural employment, and improving wildlife habitats. By involving local communities, NGOs, educational institutions, and government agencies, Van Mahotsav 2025 aims to create a collective effort towards environmental conservation. The event emphasizes the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance, preventing soil erosion, and providing oxygen.

Van Mahotsav holds significant environmental, social, and economic importance. It helps combat climate change, conserves biodiversity, and supports sustainable development. By participating in this campaign, individuals can contribute to a greener future and promote eco-friendly habits. The event also highlights the role of forests in supporting rural livelihoods and the need for conservation efforts to protect Punjab’s natural resources, such as the Mattewara forest, which provides valuable ecosystem services to the people of the state.
