Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Labour Morcha has announced a key organisational change in Maharashtra, appointing Vivek Vasant Jadhav as its new State Vice President. The decision, made under the leadership of State President Vijay Hargude and with the support of State General Secretary (Labour & Film Front) Vivek Rajendra Jagtap, is being viewed as a significant step in strengthening the party’s labour wing.
Vivek Jadhav, known for his consistent work on workers’ rights and his efforts to secure justice for contractual labourers, has long been active in labour-related movements. Party leaders said his appointment reflects recognition of his grassroots involvement, organisational contributions, and commitment to addressing labour issues across the state.
According to BJP Labour Morcha officials, Vivek Jadhav’s inclusion in the top leadership is expected to bring renewed energy to labour outreach initiatives. With several industrial clusters in Maharashtra slated for organisational expansion, senior leaders believe his role will help improve communication with the working class and accelerate ongoing programmes.
Political analysts note that the development is likely to influence labour politics beyond Thane, given Jadhav’s assertive approach to resolving workers’ grievances and his experience in handling organisational responsibilities. His elevation, they say, signals the party’s intent to further strengthen its connect with industrial and contractual labour groups.
With Vivek Jadhav’s appointment, the BJP Labour Morcha is expected to enter a more proactive phase, focusing on stronger labour mobilisation and enhanced representation of workers’ issues at the state level.
