Trump Warns of 4–5 Week War With Iran, Conflict Could Extend Further

By | Kalyani Mandle | PR Desk

U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that the ongoing military confrontation with Iran could last four to five weeks, but cautioned that the timeline may stretch longer depending on battlefield developments. Speaking amid intensifying strikes and counter-strikes, Trump described the campaign as progressing as planned, while emphasizing that the United States is prepared to continue operations if necessary to neutralize perceived threats.

Heavy Damage Reported Inside Iran

Air and missile strikes have caused extensive destruction across multiple Iranian cities. Military installations, air defense systems, and suspected missile facilities have reportedly been targeted. However, residential areas near strategic sites have also suffered damage, leading to civilian casualties and widespread fear among residents. Hospitals in major urban centers are reportedly overwhelmed, while emergency response teams continue rescue operations amid damaged infrastructure and communication disruptions.
Power outages, fuel shortages, and internet blackouts have further complicated daily life in affected regions. Analysts warn that prolonged bombardment could severely weaken Iran’s economic and industrial backbone if the conflict continues at its current intensity.

Retaliatory Strikes and Regional Spillover

Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks targeting U.S. military positions and allied infrastructure across the Gulf region. Several Middle Eastern countries have reported aerial interceptions, explosions near sensitive installations, and temporary airspace closures. Ports and energy facilities in parts of the Gulf have experienced disruptions, raising concerns over maritime security.

The strategic Strait of Hormuz — a crucial global oil transit route — remains under heightened threat perception, prompting increased naval deployments and sharp spikes in shipping insurance costs. Any prolonged instability in this corridor could significantly affect global oil supply chains.

Impact on Middle East Countries

Countries including Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia have tightened security amid fears of further escalation. Airports in major Gulf cities have faced temporary shutdowns or flight diversions, stranding thousands of travelers. Governments across the region are reviewing emergency preparedness measures while urging restraint from all sides.
Energy markets have reacted nervously, with crude oil prices witnessing volatility due to fears of supply disruption. Regional stock markets have also shown instability as investors assess the risks of a prolonged conflict.

Humanitarian and Economic Consequences

Beyond immediate military losses, the humanitarian consequences are becoming increasingly visible. Civilians in conflict-affected zones face displacement risks, shortages of essential supplies, and psychological trauma. Aid organizations warn that if hostilities continue beyond the projected four-to-five-week window, the humanitarian crisis could deepen significantly.
Economically, prolonged conflict threatens trade routes, tourism, foreign investment, and broader regional growth. Middle Eastern economies heavily reliant on energy exports may experience both short-term gains from price spikes and long-term instability due to infrastructure damage and investor uncertainty.

Uncertain Road Ahead

While Trump maintains that operations are advancing within expected parameters, defense analysts caution that modern regional conflicts rarely adhere to projected timelines. Escalation, retaliatory cycles, and involvement of additional actors could transform the confrontation into a broader Middle East crisis.

For now, the situation remains fluid, with military actions continuing and diplomatic efforts struggling to gain traction. The coming weeks will likely determine whether the conflict remains contained within a limited timeframe — or expands into a longer and more destabilizing regional war.
