Mumbai: A fresh demand to rename Dadar Railway Station as Chaityabhoomi has been raised by senior Shiv Sena leader and former Deputy Mayor Babubhai Bhavanji during the celebrations of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhavanji said that renaming Dadar Railway Station after Chaityabhoomi would be a true tribute to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, whose legacy continues to inspire millions across the country.
He emphasized that India’s emergence as one of the world’s leading economies is rooted in Babasaheb’s visionary thinking. Bhavanji also highlighted that the foundation of institutions like the Reserve Bank of India was influenced by Ambedkar’s economic ideas.

Describing Ambedkar Jayanti as a significant occasion, he said it is a day to remember the architect of the Constitution, whose life was dedicated to equality, justice, and social reform. “Babasaheb not only drafted the Constitution but also awakened society towards education, rights, and dignity,” he added.
Bhavanji further stated that Dr. Ambedkar’s life serves as a powerful example of how knowledge and determination can bring transformative change even in adverse conditions. He reiterated that Ambedkar’s message of struggle, education, and equality remains highly relevant today.

He urged citizens to follow the path shown by Babasaheb and work towards strengthening brotherhood and social harmony. Quoting Ambedkar, he said that true greatness lies in serving society selflessly.
On the occasion, large-scale tribute programs were held across Mumbai. Under Bhavanji’s leadership, thousands of water bottles were distributed to devotees visiting Shivaji Park and Rajgruha, where people gathered to pay homage.

Several prominent leaders, including Union Minister Ramdas Athawale and former MP Rahul Shewale, along with local representatives and party workers, offered floral tributes and participated in the commemorative events.
