Creative Participation and Learning Experience
The workshop began in the morning and continued throughout the day, creating a vibrant and energetic environment within the COABARC campus. Many participants attempted caricatures of celebrities, political figures, and everyday individuals, showcasing their imagination and observational abilities. The hands-on approach helped attendees better understand artistic expression and technique.

During the session, Vijay Raut explained that caricature is not merely a humorous representation but an artistic medium that exaggerates features to highlight a person’s personality. He elaborated on the fundamentals of caricature drawing, including facial structure, proportion, and the creative process of distortion. Participants learned how to exaggerate features like eyes, nose, chin, and body parts to create impactful and recognizable caricatures while maintaining artistic balance.

Participants were guided on how to depict feelings such as happiness, anger, surprise, and sadness effectively. The session also covered various styles, color techniques, and rendering methods, ranging from traditional pencil sketches to advanced digital coloring. The “mix and match” technique, which involves combining features from different individuals to create unique characters, was particularly well received by attendees.
Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Art
One of the highlights of the workshop was the introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in caricature creation. Vijay Raut demonstrated how modern AI tools can be used to enhance caricatures by adding motion, expressions, and even voice elements. This segment provided participants with a glimpse into the future of digital art and animation, showing how technology can complement traditional artistic skills.
