Mumbai: On Saturday, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya had demanded action against the sounds on the unauthorized mosque in Govandi Shivajinagar, in which he met the Shivajinagar police station and submitted a demand letter. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has been continuously raising this issue for the last few months and is also a former MP from this Lok Sabha constituency. Now he has received threats in response, which has attracted the attention of the socio-political sector.
Today, the Maharashtra state president of Khwaja Garib Nawaz Sanghatana and a resident of Shivajinagar, Yusuf Umar Ansari, has made a threat through a video call. This video is going viral in the Govandi Shivajinagar area. While making the threat in this video, he has said that no one should remove the sounds on the mosque and that he has nothing to do with reducing the sound. After this, he said that he would go to Kirit Somaiya’s house at 12 noon and question him and also accused the BJP of dictatorship.
A few years ago, MNS President Raj Thackeray had raised a storm against the sound of horns on mosques. At that time, the government had banned the sound of horns on mosques for some time, but now such sounds are being heard again. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has also now taken up this issue very aggressively and is actually coming to the local place and giving demand letters to the concerned police station.
Today, on behalf of the BJP Mankhurd Shivajinagar Legislative Assembly, a demand letter has been given to Senior Police Inspector Bapurao Deshmukh of Shivajinagar Police Station to take action against the person who made the threat in the said video. The demand letter also says that this action should be taken soon; otherwise, the BJP will launch a strong agitation. Now, after a long time, the issue of sounds on mosques has come up once again in the Muslim-dominated Govandi Shivajinagar. Now, all Hindutva organization’s are paying attention to how the government takes action on this.
