Mumbai to Get New Elevated Corridor

Mumbai : The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced that a new elevated corridor will be constructed to connect the Trans-Harbour Sealink and Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The Rs 1,100 crore project is expected to be completed by February 2027 and will significantly improve traffic flow and decongestion in the region.
Elevated Corridor Details
The elevated corridor will be a six-lane stretch that will pass over the JNPT-Panvel National Highway (NH-348). The corridor will have two connected sections: one from the Chirle end of the Mumbai Trans Harbour Sealink (MTHL) to Gavhan Phata, and another from Palaspe Phata to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
Reducing Traffic Congestion and Promoting Economic Growth
Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, said that the project aims to reduce traffic congestion, especially on NH-348, and promote economic growth in the region. The corridor will make the region more accessible and promote economic development, bringing relief to commuters and businesses alike.
