🟡 Heavy Rainfall Turns Roads into Rivers
Nashik : Nashik and Trimbakeshwar witnessed unprecedented rainfall over the past few days, turning major roads into flowing rivers. Continuous downpour has led to severe waterlogging, disrupting daily life and causing major concern for residents.
🟡 Panchvati Area Underwater
The historic Panchvati area in Nashik has been completely submerged due to the rising water levels of the Godavari River. The overflowing river has engulfed nearby localities, forcing people to remain indoors.
🟡 Ghats of Godavari Submerged
In a rare sight, all the ghats along the Godavari have gone underwater. Iconic spots such as Ramkund, Lakshman Kund, and Sitakund are completely filled with water, leaving devotees unable to perform their regular religious rituals.
🟡 Administration on High Alert
The district administration has deployed security personnel along the riverbanks to ensure public safety. The Nashik District Collector has issued an advisory urging citizens to stay away from the Godavari ghats until the situation improves.
🟡 Maha Aarti Performed from Elevated Platforms
Despite the rising waters, the traditional Mahaaarti of the Godavari was performed on elevated platforms above the submerged ghats, maintaining the centuries-old spiritual tradition while ensuring safety.
🟡 IMD Red Alert for Nashik
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a red alert for Nashik and surrounding areas, warning of extremely heavy rainfall in the coming five days. Authorities fear further rise in water levels and have advised extreme caution.
🟡 Trimbakeshwar Drenched, Devotees Affected
The holy town of Trimbakeshwar, the origin of the Godavari River and a key pilgrimage site, is also experiencing intense rainfall. Pilgrims visiting the temple are facing difficulties as approach roads remain waterlogged.
