Mumbai : In a significant operation, Mumbai Police Zone 6 has arrested eight Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in the Rafiq Nagar slum under Shivaji nagar police station area. The arrests are part of a broader campaign against illegal immigration in the city.
Deception and Illegal Activities
The arrested individuals, who had been living in India for five years, had allegedly changed their names and gender to evade detection. They were found to be involved in various illegal activities, including prostitution and criminal behavior. Furthermore, sources indicate that these individuals were working on development projects in Mumbai using fake documents.

Between January and December 2024, Mumbai Police arrested 299 Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in the city. Earlier this year, a Bangladeshi national was arrested for stabbing Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan in a botched robbery in Bandra. The incident highlights the need for continued vigilance and action against illegal immigration.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 6, Navnath Dhawale, formed a special team to investigate and arrest the illegal Bangladeshi nationals.
