Sakinaka Police Crack Down on Narcotics Trade

Major Breakthrough in Drug Bust
Mumbai: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Sakinaka Police has arrested two individuals in connection with the seizure of 4.53 kilograms of MD drugs, valued at approximately ₹8.15 crore. The operation, conducted within a span of just 60 hours, highlights the relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb the menace of narcotics in the region.
Details of the Arrests
The first accused, Sadiq Saleem Shaikh (28), a resident of Bandra West, was apprehended on the night of April 24 during a routine patrol near the Sulabh Toilet, Retiwala Compound. Upon frisking, the police recovered 53 grams of MD drugs worth ₹10 lakh from his possession. Further investigation revealed that Shaikh was sourcing the drugs from Meera Road. Following this lead, the Sakinaka Police tracked down the second accused, Siraj Sultaan Panjwani (57), from Meera Road on April 26.
Raid and Recovery
Based on Panjwani’s statement, the police laid a trap and raided M.K. Green AAC Block Company in Kamanghar, Vasai. The raid led to the recovery of materials used in the production of MD drugs, including a centrifugal machine and a 300-liter fridge used for cooling and solidifying chemical substances. Despite the significant findings, the main accused, Kaluram Choudhary, remains at large, and the Saki naka Police are intensifying efforts to apprehend him.
