Kolhapur to Get Major Boost with New IT Hub and Agricultural University

Boosting Local Economy
Kolhapur : Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has announced plans to establish a new Information Technology (IT) Hub in Kolhapur, which will provide job opportunities for local youth. To facilitate this project, the state government will allocate 34 hectares of land in the Shenda park area, near Kolhapur city.
Land Allocation and Transfer
In exchange for the land, the Kolhapur Agricultural University will receive 60-100 hectares of fertile land, equipped with electricity, water, and road facilities. This land will be finalized by the district collector within 10 days, with the university’s approval. The land transfer will be approved in a cabinet meeting, chaired by Pawar.
Empowering Youth and Agriculture
Pawar emphasized the importance of providing adequate facilities and suitable land for agriculture, education, research, and extension programs. He noted that the state has adopted an industry-friendly policy to encourage the industrial sector, which will contribute to the state’s economic development and create employment opportunities.
