Zone 6 Anti-Narcotics Squad Strikes Big, Seizes Crores Worth of Drugs

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Squad, Zone 06, in collaboration with the Shivaji Nagar Police Station, successfully conducted a raid on May 13, 2025, seizing narcotics worth Rs 6 crore 19 lakh 48 thousand from a residence in Govandi. This operation highlights the police department’s commitment to tackling the drug menace in the city.
Significant Seizure
The raid resulted in the seizure of substantial quantities of banned substances, including 3 kg 78 grams of Mephedrone (MD) valued at Rs 6,15,60,000, 12 kg of Ganja worth Rs 2,40,000, and 36 Codeine Phosphate-containing Onorex bottles worth Rs 18,000. Additionally, cash worth Rs 1,30,000 was confiscated.
Accused Taken into Custody and Legal Proceedings
Salman Izhar Sheikh (23) was apprehended during the raid and is currently in custody. A case has been registered against him at Shivaji Nagar Police Station under the NDPS Act 1985. The accused is likely to face charges related to possession, sale, and distribution of narcotics. Further investigation will determine the extent of his involvement in the drug trade and potential connections to larger networks.
