The only teacher selected from the entire Maharashtra
Satara : Balaji Jadhav, a primary teacher at Zilla Parishad Primary School in Vijaynagar (Paryanti), has been selected for the esteemed ‘UMANG’ fellowship. This prestigious educational fellowship recognizes Jadhav’s innovative educational experiments in a remote rural area of Satara.
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai, funded by Flourishing Minds Fund USA, selected 50 experimental teachers from across India for the fellowship. Jadhav was chosen through a rigorous three-stage process involving project submission, presentation, and interview. The fellowship is a one-year hybrid program that will cover innovative educational experiments, social and emotional development, and modern teaching methods.
Balaji Jadhav has made significant contributions to education, connecting his school with countries worldwide using modern technology. He teaches Japanese and ancient Modi script to his students, who have achieved success in various state-level competitive exams.
With only 12 students from the village in the school, Jadhav’s innovative methods have made a significant impact. Balaji Jadhav has received numerous awards for his innovative experiments, and this fellowship will provide him with an opportunity to enrich himself and collaborate with 50 innovative teachers from across the country. His selection has been met with congratulations from parents, villagers, and the academic sectors.
