Mumbai: On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, social organisation Flora Foundation organised a special celebration with orphaned and underprivileged children in Mumbai, spreading a message of love, brotherhood, protection and social responsibility.

During the programme, girls tied Rakhi to Babu Bhavani, former Deputy Mayor of Mumbai, senior Shiv Sena leader and Managing Trustee of Flora Foundation; Arun Sabnis, President of the organisation; and social worker Dhiraj Chheda (Ekalveer).

The celebration also witnessed an emotional gesture as orphaned and underprivileged children living on the streets tied Rakhi to the girls and pledged to stand by them, protect their dignity and extend all possible support.

🟡 Focus on Belonging and Security

The programme aimed to strengthen the feeling of belonging, security and togetherness among orphaned and underprivileged children while highlighting the deeper meaning of the Raksha Bandhan festival.

The celebration created an atmosphere of happiness and affection, with the children participating enthusiastically in the programme.

🟡 A Message Beyond Tradition

The Flora Foundation’s initiative sought to take the traditional brother-sister bond beyond rituals by connecting it with care, protection and social responsibility.

The Raksha Bandhan celebration brought smiles to the faces of the children and conveyed a strong message that every child deserves dignity, affection, security and a sense of family.
