India Suspends Visa Services to Pakistani Nationals Amidst Rising Tensions

By: PR NETWORK

New Delhi: In response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian government has taken a firm stance against Pakistan by suspending visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect. This decision, made by the Cabinet Committee on Security, aims to strengthen national security and prevent further terrorist activities. The government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety and security of its citizens. With this move, India is sending a strong message to Pakistan that it will not tolerate any form of the terrorism.

Visa Suspension Details

All existing valid visas issued to Pakistani nationals will be revoked starting April 27, 2025. This means that Pakistani nationals will no longer be able to travel to India on their existing visas. They will have to apply for new visas, which may or may not be approved. The visa suspension is a significant move that will impact travel between the two countries.

Details of the Suspension and Travel Advisory

The suspension includes specific details such as Medical Visas: Medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will remain valid only until April 29, 2025. This gives them a short window to complete their medical treatment in India or make alternative arrangements. Travel Advisory: Pakistani nationals currently in India are required to leave the country before their visa expires. Indian nationals are advised to avoid traveling to Pakistan and those currently in Pakistan are urged to return to India at the earliest. The travel advisory is aimed at ensuring the safety of Indian citizens and preventing any potential security risks.

Government’s Stance

The Ministry of External Affairs has emphasized that this decision is a response to the growing security concerns and terrorist activities linked to Pakistan. The government is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of its citizens. This includes strengthening border security, intelligence gathering, and taking diplomatic measures to isolate Pakistan. The government is determined to protect its citizens and will take all necessary steps to prevent terrorism.

Impact on Relations

This move is expected to further strain India-Pakistan relations, which have been tense due to ongoing security issues and terrorist attacks. The Indian government continues to monitor the situation closely and take necessary actions to protect its citizens. The government is firm in its resolve to tackle terrorism and will not compromise on national security. The decision to suspend visa services is a significant escalation in the diplomatic row between the two countries.
