Mumbai : Delhi Election 2025 The Mumbai BJP has extended its support to the party’s historic victory in Delhi, where it won 48 out of 70 seats, marking its biggest win in the national capital after a 27-year hiatus. The BJP’s landslide victory was anticipated, given its impressive performance in recent elections, including winning all 7 Lok Sabha seats in Delhi and securing victories in neighboring states like Haryana and Maharashtra. The party’s campaign strategy focused on highlighting the AAP’s controversies, such as the liquor scam, while showcasing its own achievements in other states, which ultimately resonated with voters.

The BJP’s strategy for the Delhi elections was meticulously planned at a micro level. They divided the 70 seats into 14 wards of 5 seats each and handpicked 14 young leaders with exceptional organizational skills and election experience from across the country. Each leader was assigned a ward and worked tirelessly for 7 weeks, focusing on the 5 constituencies within their designated area.
Some notable leaders involved in this effort included Gujarat MLA Amit Thakar, Haryana Minister Asim Goel, and Mumbai BJP General Secretary Sanjay Upadhyay. Their first meeting with BJP’s national organization general secretary B.L. Santosh took place on December 15, where they outlined the winning strategy for Delhi .

This well-planned approach ultimately led to the BJP’s resounding victory in the Delhi elections, securing 48 out of 70 seats and ending AAP’s decade-long rule.
Sanjay Upadhyay, a first-time MLA from Mumbai, played a crucial role in the BJP’s victory in the Delhi Assembly elections. Upadhyay, who won the Borivali Assembly constituency in the Maharashtra Assembly elections on November 23, 2024, was called to Delhi to help the BJP capture the capital. His efforts paid off, as the BJP won all 5 seats in the North West Delhi division, including Narela, Rohini, Rithala, Badli, and Bawana.
Sanjay Upadhyay’s strategy focused on grassroots-level work, including allocating tasks at the booth level, preparing booth chiefs, and conducting small group meetings. He also engaged with youth, women’s groups, and beneficiaries of government schemes, which helped the BJP connect directly with voters. His contribution to the BJP’s victory in Delhi is a matter of pride for Maharashtra, showcasing the state’s impact on national politics.
