CRPF Jawan Commits Suicide in Gadchiroli District

By: PR Network

Gadchiroli: A tragic incident occurred in Gadchiroli district today, where a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan, Giriraj Ramnaresh Kishore, committed suicide by shooting himself. The 30-year-old jawan, a resident of Agra in Uttar Pradesh, was posted at Dhanora police station.

According to reports, Giriraj was working in the CRPF battalion in Pune for three months before joining the CRPF battalion number 113 in Dhanora just three days ago. This morning, while leading the front, he suddenly shot himself in the head with his rifle.

Giriraj’s family, residing in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, is left to grapple with the shocking news. The incident has raised many questions about the mental stress and pressures faced by jawans serving away from their families.

The CRPF jawan’s suicide is not an isolated incident in the district. Previously, the bodyguard of the district sessions judge died suddenly in the court premises in December 2024. Another jawan posted at the bungalow of the former guardian minister of Aheri, Amrish rao Atram, also took his own life.

The investigation is ongoing, and it remains to be seen whether Giriraj’s death was a case of suicide or accidental shooting. Nevertheless, the incident highlights the need to address the mental health and well-being of jawans serving in challenging environments.
